Access to Care

Getting health care when needed prevents and treats illness and improves longevity. Insurance is only one factor in accessing health care. In addition to having comprehensive, affordable health insurance, access to health care means that the full range of health care services, including medical, dental, mental health, and long term care, are available. Accessibility means that affordable care is offered when, where, and how it is needed. Health care access can affect health outcomes for a variety of conditions and diseases.
